We used the both extension pieces and it fits the width of our hallway perfectly. Looks nice and feels quite sturdy when our puppies jump up on it. The gate only opens one way, which is disappointing, as that doesn't work for our space. It would be better if you could change the two extension pieces around (they only fit one way)& as one is bigger than the other we can't turn it around so that it opens, as the stairs would block half of the gate and wouldn't be enough room to go through it. But I have improvised and used a velcro strap to keep it closed. Easy to put together, recommend 2 people if using the full extension as it is quite wobbly to hold and tighten.

Want a gate that only opens in 1 direction? Want a gate that doesn't fit any useable UK opening? BUY THIS GATE! Gate on its own not wide enough? only need the small extension piece? PERFECT, Please note, the bolts wont fit in the small extension piece, therefore be prepared to get stuck where ever you have a skirting board! Renters beware, cutting that skirting board, isn't worth the deposit! Enough of the cheese, this is the worst gate I've ever bought, I've tried it in 3 different rooms in 3 different areas and it never fits.

When opening it looks complicated to put together. It was very easy to put up and We used the smaller extension to fit the stairway. Great for keeping our Labrador! Recommend.

This is fantastic if you want just a stairgate but as soon as you put the extension parts on it it Wobblies and moves quick a bit not sturdy. Also doesn't line up great with the extension on. I'm using it just to keep my dogs in the kitchen but I'm not sure if I'd want to use it with the extension parts for a baby.

With 4 large dogs, being able to block off areas or separate dogs for medical recovery or feeding is essential. We needed something that was not obtrusive while still being sturdy enough for our wild pack. I also did not want to permanently attach anything to my walls or trim. I needed a system that could separate our kitchen from our family room. We didn't want to make anyone feel completely sequestered by having to close the wide French doors between the two rooms. We also wanted to be able to get a matching one for the other end of the kitchen leading into a hallway with a narrower egress. This gate checked all the boxes AND comes in two sizes. The gates are adjustable and can be expanded to fit the desired openings within their respective stated size ranges. I did buy some added protectors for the tension pads to keep them from maring the painted trim. I'm glad I did, as I have these installed pretty tightly. The latches are easy to use and sturdy. There is a little lock on them which kept the smart puppy from flipping up the latch. As some of the prettier wooden options would have looked nicer, I couldn't find any tall enough, easy enough to operate with full hands, and they looked to be more difficult to clean. Dust comes right off of these with a duster. Although they don't necessarily add to the decor in our house, they don't make it look tacky, either. These are sturdy, useful, easily removable, and they just seem to blend in. Buying two different sizes was a brilliant move on my part! Great value for the money!

Just to confirm, I am reviewing the Regalo Easy Step 49" wide baby gate. In our case, keeping 2 chihuahua away from an office an bedroom. The instructions are clear, all parts were there, and it took less than 15 minutes to install. The gate latch works great and the space between bars is small enough to keep both dogs out. The opening is about 36" so we used the 4" extension, saving the 12" extension if we ever move the gate to wider opening.

The media could not be loaded. I've been looking for a gate to block my puppies so they can't go near the front door, got tired to shooing them. Looked everywhere, Amazon had the best pricing & reviews (with videos). 📦: very sturdy with lots of foams & shipping was quick (no prime) Product: good metal quality, lock functionality, easy to use, fits. White blends in with my house. My hallway area is 48.5" wide & this gate extemds to 49"W which is perfect. Pricing: average, paid $55 Installation: a bit confusing but not hard level. Trying to figure which gate pieces matches up then when I pressure mounted to the wall, closing that gap where the latch is was took a few minutes. In the end it worked out. Overall I would recommend!
